Attan Moses (FDC): ‘It is unfortunate that all our polling agents have been arrested. Over 70 people have been arrested, including the party President Patrick Amuriat. My worry is about the safety of people in this election because the state seems to want Ariko to go to Parliament at all costs, even when he has no support. Our agents have been denied access to the polling stations.’
This comes a day after Hon. Moses Attan was allegedly poisoned at his rally, which he consequently left before the end to be moved to a clinic where, he says on his facebook page, spent one and a half hours before being moved out of Soroti to a private facility for further management and to avoid his enemies from accessing him.
The two major contesting parties FDC and NRM, amidst the elections today, continue to exchange words of fury, FDC accusing NRM of rigging and corrupting voters as NRM claims that FDC is just scared of the big competition.
