Over 30 members of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) have so far picked nomination forms to contest on the 38 slots of the party National Executive Committee (NEC) leadership positions.
The party Electoral Commission(EC) Chairman Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda while addressing journalists at party headquarters in Najjanankumbi said the process of picking forms started last week on Friday and Tuesday 12th/October/2023 so interested party members should be early up.
Bamwenda adds that 38 Posts are to be filled namely the party President and deputies, Secretary General and deputies, party Chairman and Deputy among others and they have set 6th/October/2023 for the delegates’ conference.
He says that the party President will pay UGX 5million as nomination fees and deputies UGX 1.5million ,Secretary General UGX 3 Million, Deputy UGX 1 million, party Chairman UGX 4million, Deputy UGX 1million and any other position UGX 200,000/=.
He calls upon eligible party members to embrace the process to strengthen the party grassroots.
He has disclosed that party EC has successfully conducted elections in 125 districts (83%) out of the 150 districts in Uganda to fill the party lower leadership positions and the districts who have missed elections will vote after the 6ths delegate’s conference.
