The speaker of parliament Anita Among has pledged more financial support to the health sector in the coming financial year 2024/25.
This was after receiving a brief from the Executive Director of Mulago Referral hospital Dr. Rosemary Byanyima on the so many challenges faced by the hospital among which is the inadequate human resource that has led to the under utilization and operationalization of ICUs at Mulago referral hospital.
Currently Mulago has 29 ICUs but only 14 are functional and its from this that the Speaker Among promised to engage government and lobby parliament to increasing the budget allocation of the health sector.
Speaker Among had gone to pay a visit to Dakabela county mp Cosmos Elotu who is currently admitted in ICU after getting involved in an accident over the weekend.
