The Hungarian Foreign affairs minister Peter Szijjarto has pledged for more support to Uganda in a number of sectors among others security, education, agriculture, migration, water and health.
He disclosed this after renewing their memorandum of understanding with various line ministers for a period of 4 years that include minister for foreign affairs Jeje odongo,minister of state for higher education John Crystom Muyingo at foreign affairs ministry saying that they can’t stop supporting Uganda since it hosts a number of refugees and their should be stability in the country and will continue to help Uganda to ensure that it’s stable.
He revealed that they have provided 20 scholarships to Ugandans to study from Hungary and over 300 Ugandans have so applied for these scholarships.
Szijjarto however said they are challenged with a high number of illegal migrants who cross to Europe disguising as tourists thus calling upon Uganda to be careful with tourists since it’s one of the root causes of terrorism.
The minister for foreign affairs Jeje odongo applauded Hungary for it’s continued support to Ugandans through health, cyber security among others.
The minister of state for higher education John Crystom Muyingo revealed that a number of Ugandans especially those taking on science subjects have benefitted from these scholarships.
